Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner's estranged wife, has moved into an opulent residence, even after losing her bid for child support from her husband. As reported by the Daily Mail, Baumgartner has taken up residence in a Montecito, California rental property with a monthly price tag of $40,000. This four-bedroom house boasts amenities such as a pool, jacuzzi, meticulously landscaped gardens, and access to scenic woodland hiking trails, all situated on an expansive one-acre property.
During her court testimony, Baumgartner expressed her disappointment that the rental property did not match the standards of Costner's lakefront mansion, where she and their children had grown accustomed. The 49-year-old former model pointed out that even though the rental included a pool house and guest quarters, guests still had to use the main house for shower facilities. She also noted that her 13-year-old daughter, Grace, had to share her bathroom with the entire house, while her 16-year-old son, Caden, and 14-year-old son, Hayes, had to share another bathroom.
Initially, when the divorce proceedings between the 68-year-old Yellowstone actor and Baumgartner began, she had requested over $175,000 in monthly child support, which was a $46,000 increase from the amount he had previously been paying. However, after a revised assessment by a forensic accountant, Baumgartner's attorney, John Rydell, later announced that they were reducing their requested amount to $161,592 per month.
Even with this reduced request, it remained significantly higher than Costner's proposed monthly contribution of $60,000, which Baumgartner deemed insufficient to maintain the family's accustomed lifestyle.
