Simon Cowell, recognized for his candid judging on numerous reality talent competitions, has a nine-year-old son who seems to be following in his footsteps. As a longstanding panelist on the renowned reality series "America's Got Talent," Cowell recently divulged that his son is contemplating the idea of auditioning for the very same show.
In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Cowell shared insights into his nine-year-old son, Eric's aspirations to step onto the entertainment stage. Despite Simon's role on the American version of the show, young Eric is drawn to kickstart his journey in the entertainment industry through the British rendition of the program.
"He has now decided he's going to audition for Britain's Got Talent," Cowell revealed, his tone laced with amusement. "I believe he's aiming to join a rock band. He's a big fan of Green Day."
Cowell humorously quipped, "This is going to be absolute torture. I mean, out of all the things I've ever done, this will likely be the most challenging, as he intends to play the drums and sing! My reaction was, 'Oh goodness, no.'"
Emphasizing his son's genuine dedication, Cowell underscored, "He's truly serious about it."
Attempting to decipher his son's motivation, Cowell shared, "I'm not quite sure what it is. Perhaps seeing all these kids auditioning has inspired him to share the stage with his friends... Hopefully, in ten years or less, he'll be up there sitting on the panel."
The 63-year-old reality show judge also revealed that his son serves as an exceptional gauge for assessing acts on the show, given that "you can't fake it with kids." He elaborated, "If they genuinely like something, it shows. Conversely, if they're disinterested, it's quite apparent."
Cowell vividly depicted his son's enthusiastic response, sharing that when Eric enjoys an act on the show, he's "literally jumping up and down in his seat.
